Find the area and perimeter of 4 sided shapes was fun. This week we are focusing on finding the area and perimeter of triangles, and then naming the types of triangles that we have created. Check out our progress!
Finding surface area of 3D Shapes
Students began the unit using nets to create a cube. We then used our knowledge of finding the area of 4 sided 2D shapes, to figure out how to find the surface area of our cubes. Next we did a shape scavenger hunt on the playground and in the classroom, where the students had to use clues to find their shapes and then find the surface areas of their shapes. They learned the differences between a prism and pyramid.
