Khan Academy Assignments
Student Led Conference Prep!
Writer's Workshop Newspaper
Read for 20-30 min.
We have many things happening at the same time in the last weeks of term. Here are some things that students and parents need to keep in mind.
- Newspaper articles for writing need to be finished by Wednesday. These will be printed by the teachers on Monday, for Tuesday's Student Led Conferences.
- Final schedules will be sent out this Wednesday for SLC's. Please sign up with the link your teacher sent, if you haven't already.
- Full costumes for Hoodwinked should be in students' baskets. If materials were not brought in on time then they will need to assemble the costumes during their break time.
- Diorama creations will start next Wednesday. Students will be creating a 3D diorama of their ecosystem with their group. All items they'd like to bring in must be in class by Wednesday at the latest. They will have until Friday in class to finish them.
- Khan Academy assignments for this term are due the last day of term.
Week 10
Students are encouraged to keep up with their Khan Academy assignments. All geometry assignments will be due next Friday, the last day of term. Please help them make sure their scores are above 80% on each assignment to show they have mastered the skills. They are encouraged to watch Khan Academy videos if they need additional help on a skill.
Read for 30 minutes nightly and engage with the text.
They can also do the Book Club jobs to further enhance their reading skills.
Diorama construction will begin on Wednesday. Students need to bring in any special materials they'd like to include in their dioramas that we don't already have in the classroom. They can also use recyclable materials to make their landscape items. The dioramas will be the size of a paper box (which will be provided).
For any students that have not finished their newspaper articles, these were due last week. These will be combined with their group this week to make a paper newspaper.

Week 11
This week, students are encouraged to get themselves organized for their production.
(Costumes, makeup, practise their dance and lines if they are cast members)
Maths Assessments have been given Monday and Tuesday. Students will be required to do additional practise over the break if they did not meet the expectations on the assessment. They can continue practising these skills, if need be, on Khan Academy.
Reminder that all Khan Academy Assignments are due by Friday.
Of course, and this goes without saying, that students should be reading daily over the holiday and practising their maths skills.
We will be starting fractions, decimals and percentages in Term 4, so they can brush up on their knowledge from last year. Please refer to Khan Academy for practise, as well as Math Antics. They have some great videos!
